The cost of registering your domain is normally no more than $35 yearly. Beware of companies who offer to register your domain at deeply discounted prices. It is important to register your domain name with a legitimate registrar which has a good customer service record and who will make domain transfers and changes as quickly as possible. Another point to remember when you select your domain name registrar is to be certain that your domain name is being registered directly to you and not to your registrar, web design firm or hosting company. If your design company registers the domain in their name, you will not be able to switch hosting or design firms without their permission!
